virtual memory is to create a memory that functions like RAM but in virtual form (intangible).By way of "sacrificing" HDD space which has a ratio of 1:100, meaning that each 100Mbhard disk space is used as virtual memory will be converted into 1Mb

  in virtual form, which means adding Computer 1Mb RAM capacity. Interested?

Virtual memory is typically used for computers that it is still considered less RAM, or not satisfied with the existing capacity of RAM in the computer .. Example:


Want 512Mb RAM Upgradeable to 1024Mb/1Gb, means less 512Mb again, right?
Remember gan's not that we change the capacity of 512Mb RAM before, but making aVirtual RAM as if we add another 512Mb RAM into our computer.

ratio of 1:100
Formula: 512 * 100 = 51.2 Gb
.: The:. will reduce as much as 51.2 Gb HDD space to generate a virtual 512Mb Memory.

Keep in mind that we are "sacrificing" HDD space, so must be willing to lose hard diskspace if given the ratio of 1:100 to think of it quite harmful, especially if you often downloadbig files would lose storage space for it ..

Create Windows XP

Right click START - select Explore
Right-click My Computer - select Properties
Click on Advanced
See "Performance" - click settings
click Advanced
See "Virtual Memory" - click change
Choose a location that will we sacrifice HDD (C: / or D: /)
Type a number (in Mb) of virtual memory kta want
click sets
click ok
